PAV Blog Day 1_1.21 Portland to Eugene

The day is finally here! We didnt get on the road until 1:30pm! It was great having all the bikes loaded and ready to go! My bike ended up being heavier than I'd orignally wanted which made it more of a bear to control. We made good time from Portland to Corvallis until Chris got a flat tire! It took nearly two hours to change the tire, regroup, and get back on the road. So by 3pm we'd only made it to Corvallis! It was 45 degrees and getting colder as the sun went down. As much as we'd wanted to make it to Medford our hands and legs were too cold to go much longer. We were all prepared to endure the cold through Oregon and Northern California but not looking forward to camping roadside in below freezing temperatures. Lucky for us Lawson and a friend in Eugene who was willing to let us stay the night. We were all thankful for a warm place to rest our heads.
