PAV Blog Day 3_1.23 Medford to San Francisco

Today, the morning of our third day, we were ready to put the road (and broken parts) behind us. Our goal was to make it to Chico California today. We made it through the Shasta pass without any problems and actually encountered warm air at higher elevations! On the south side of Mt.Shasta the sun was out and our hands were beginning to warm up. We made it to the Chico turn off around 1pm with plenty of energy to ride on, but our next contact was in San Francisco! With the sun shining and the miles rolling smoothly by we decided it was a good day to keep going.
As we continued the clouds moved in and the first rain we'd seen started falling. From Portland to Cali without a drop of rain and not a day into the sunshine state and it starts pouring! It rained off and on all the way into San Francisco, what a treat...We made it safely to Lawson's cousins house around 8pm. We are all beat but excited to be this far into California.

I'm going to make sure I have better pictures on my camera for day 4!
